This has been an exciting few years for our WTHS Key Club. We have had several members serving on the state (district) board, with more students interested in running for higher office at the convention in March later this school year! Currently, the following students are serving on the state board: Executive Committee Governor- Paige Hein Webmaster- Samantha Bunag District Committee Lieutenant Governors Duneland Division - Jason Bunag Arrowhead Division - Gage Gonzalez Sagamore Division - Madalyn Richardson On Tuesday, September 19th, Jason Bunag and Mrs. Rea planned and hosted a Key Club mixer for all the clubs affiliated with the Valparaiso Noon Kiwanis, our sponsor. The event included a service project, ice breakers, information about state events, presentation of the Governor’s project, and, of course, food! This was a great way for students from other schools to get to know one another and learn more about Key Club International.

National Custodian Day is Oct. 2, 2023! This day recognizes the hard work that it takes to keep our public facilities in great shape as well as the people who diligently work to make sure we have schools and workplaces that are clean and sanitary. The custodian and maintenance crews are vital to keeping the schools and environment safe and healthy. On National Custodian Day, we ask that you show your appreciation to the East Porter custodian and maintenance teams who clean and fix our schools and office buildings and are an integral part of our school community.

Bullsfest is a 3 v 3 tournament hosted by the Chicago Bulls at the United Center every summer. Rob McGowan‘s team consisted of him, Peyton Turnowski from Chesterton, Dillon Walpole and Brian from Westville. They took first place in their division at Bulls Fest this past summer. James’s team consisted of him, Cort Goetz, Brogan Banker — All from WT — and Noah Ladra from Morgan Township. James McGowan’s team placed third after losing to his brother’s team in the semi finals. Both teams were in the same bracket. Winners in each bracket, received a championship ring and two tickets to each player to attend the bulls game on November 6 against the Utah Jazz. And winners of each bracket will be escorted down to the court during second quarter to be recognized! Congratulations!!
