PhMorgan Townships, Dagan Blohm and many other members of the Fire and Rescue vocational course at the MAAC Center in Valparaiso participated in the annual stair climb of 110 flights of stairs on Tuesday in remembrance of the fire fighters who responded to the terrorist attack on the World Trade Centers on September 11th, 2001.
The MAAC Center challenges students who are interested in the fire fighting career field on a daily basis. From learning how to handle HAZMAT situations in the classroom and the chemistry behind different chemical burns, to the actual protocol for extinguishing a blaze inside of a residential home, these students are given a hands on experience that is unforgettable.
