CLUBS

Chess club for today is canceled.

Middle School Art Club members, on Tuesday please check in with your SRT teacher first, then meet in Mrs. Braun's room.  Bring your club dues and t-shirt money.  

Where do the forgotten things end up? Find out this weekend as the High School

Drama Club presents Oz by Don Zolidis. There are three shows to pick from: Friday at

7 and Saturday at 2 and 7. Tickets are $5 at the door or stay tuned tomorrow for a way

to get a free ticket.

Attention FACS members we will be having a meeting Tuesday during SRT in Mrs. Stoner's room.  Please report to your SRT and then come for the meeting.  We will be planning Halloween Howl - we are less than two weeks to the event - so it is super important you attend!! and as always, snacks will be served.

If you still want to be in DECA, please see or email Mr. Patz today if you have not paid your dues.  They are due today. 

SPORTS

On Saturday, twenty nine of our middle school cross country runners, who met the qualifying standards, competed in the state finals in Terre Haute. This is the most kids to qualify in any one season!

The Girls team are state champions!  They finished first in the state against a field of 55 teams. (462 total runners)

McKenna Bucher, who finished 5th, was named to the All State team and set a new PR and school record with a finish time of 11:02.9!

The Morgan Girls last won this event in 2021 for the first time in school history. Now State Champions twice in the last three years! 

The Boys team finished fourth in the state against a field of 62 teams. (522 total runners)

Kaleb Freyenberger finished 18th and led the boys team with a PR finish time of 10:19!  He was also named to the All State team!

The Middle School Girls JV team also won the State title in a field of 16 teams.  The JV team was made up of team leader Elyse Coffman (13th) and followed by:

There were 17 new PRs set!  Congratulations Morgan Runners! We’re so proud of you.

On Saturday, the high school boys cross country team competed at the PCC Conference meet. The team finished 6th place. The team was led by Clint Lemmons and followed closely by Mason Koch, Luke Drozd, Colter Hannon, and Kendell Herma. Special congratulations to Clint Lemmons and Mason Koch for earning all-conference honors.

This past weekend the girls XC team won their 9th out of the last 10 PCC XC Championships and made it 10 in a row for the round robin.

Emmy was the PCC champ and PCC MVP this season. She was closely followed in second by Dana and Peyton in 3rd. Vanessa was next, finishing in 5th overall. Right behind her was Megan in 9th, Shae in 10th and Audrey rounded out the varsity team finishing in 14th. 

All were All-Conference.

In the reserve race we had Jenna as the overall winner, followed by Ava in 2nd, Allison in 3rd. Rebecca rounded out finishers in the reserve race.

Great job ladies.

Now it's on to the Chesterton Sectionals, Oct 14th at Sunset Hill.

A few of the teams they'll be competing against there, Valpo, Chesterton and Portage.

The HS girls varsity volleyball team fell to South Central 0-3 in the PCC championship Thursday night. Congratulations to Sierra Ricke and Maddy Keifer on making the all conference team. The Cherokees are back in action at home tomorrow night for their Breast Cancer Awareness Dig Pink game. Come out and wear pink! JV starts at 5 with Varsity to follow at 6. There will be a bake sale, t shirts for $15, and an honorary board for fans to add the names of anyone they know who has fought against Breast Cancer. All proceeds will go to NWI’s The Pink Ribbon Society.
